Hard to push pedal after replacing clutch.
Hi.
I just had my clutch and pressure plate replaced on a 98 LS. Used and exedy Daikin kit, wich is the same one the car had.
Also I got the clutch pedal adjusted to be at the same height as the brake pedal. (used to be 1 inch higher).
Now the clutch is harder to push than it was beafore, there is no other problem exept for this.
I have the following questions:
1) Is it normar for a clutch to have the pedal harder to push when new?
If not, do you think that it is harder due to the pedal adjustment or is it a problem with the Pressure plate?
2) What is the correct height for the clutch pedal on a new Integra?
3) Is there a break in period for new clutches? If so how many miles.
Thanks,
Rebecca L.

1. new clutches will be tighter because the fulcrum on the pressure plate with a new disc is different than the old one.
2. the clutch hight isnt a huge deal. put it somewhere comfortable, but make sure it will fully disengage.
3. yes. you should break in your clutch for 500-700 miles. just drive normal. that means no clutch dumps or hard shifting. but freeway driving wont hurt it at all.

Thanks Guys!
I will miss the hard driving for a while
.
Also I have the follwoing questions:
I read in the Haynes mannual that the clutch pedal must be 6.5" from the floor when adjusted.
1) If the pedal is adjusted 6.5 inch it would be 2 inches higher than the gas and brake pedals. Do all integras have the clutch pedal higher than the gas and brake?
2) Will adjusting the clutch pedal height affect the clutch trabel? A mechanic told me it does not matter the height of the pedal but I am not sure.
Thanks again.
