auto to manual conversion...?
Alright. A deal came my way for a 92 integra for $900. I consider it a great deal and all, however, it's an automatic. It also has high miles so a swap is most definite. Anyway, I was wondering what will it take to convert it to a 5-speed. Your comments will be appreciated! Thanks!
Let's see...
-Clutch cable
-pedal assembly
-intermediate shaft
-ECU
-manual transaxle
-manual transaxle mount
Basically, the old stuff has to come out, the automatic transaxle mount has to be cut off and the manual mount welded in, some minor wiring needs to be done, the manual trans and intermediate shaft go in, clutch cable and pedals need to be installed, and more. It's not a fun process and it is best to sell the automatic and buy a manual.

i had a 94 civic with an dead auto tranny and i opted to get a conversion because i really loved that car even for an auto i went to three tranny shops in town 2 of them sed they wouldnt touch it,"too big of a hassel i was told"the third sed yeak ok we can do it .for the low low price of $3,000 i ended up just buying a new car.plus an 92'acura for 900 bucks is a good idea but you could just get an better one for the amount of money your going to pay for that conversion...
