Default GSR weight reduction..........

What are the easiest ways to save weight in a 97 GSR?

Carbon fiber hood.
Aftermarket seats.
Removal of spare tire and jack.
What else?
What have people been able to reduce weight to?

Remove the whole interior?? It all depends on how many comforts you're willing to give up to reduce the weight.
Take out power steering
Take out A/C
Carbon Fiber everything, not just hood.

Definitely whittle down that unsprung weight! Strip your interior paneling as wheel as the tar on the floor. Lightweight rims, lightened brake calipers, strip your entire windshield sprayer assembly, remove power steering belt, pump, plug steering rack, remove air condition, carbon fiber hood, fenders (painted of course), carbon fiber hatch, etc. the list goes on and on.

Some of the easiest things to do are...

remove rear wiper
remove complete A/C
remove complete P/S
remove cruise control
remove spare tire and jack

This allows you to keep a relative stock looking appearance. If you can live with a bare looking Integra on the inside remove everything that is bolted down that you do not need and scrape all sound deadening material. These all cost little to now $$.

Then look into lighter rims and CF for anything you can do.

lighter battery, flywheel, remove backseats, or anything in the interior besides the driver seat, etc.

Aftermarket seats will not help. A carbon fiber hood will only shave about 20 pounds. Take out the spare tire and tools, and if your serious about weight reduction then remove the A/C system... the A/C condensor alone weighs 40 pounds. Also remove the power steering and cruise control units.

Well when I took mine out they sure didn't feel like 40 pounds lol. I'm just saying... even if you get aftermarket seats it's not going to be a dramatic weight loss and most seats at $400 a pop are not the first obvious choice when you can simply remove things.

going by what it "feels like" isn't an acurate gauge of how much weight you are saving.
