Ride of The Week - 12.16.02 [MaxBoost]
Hello.
My car did have cruise control, however it does not work now because I don't think we put back the control box, but once I put it back in, it should work. It's not really an issue.
I've been driving my car daily since the swap (August 1st, 2002) and I have yet to have any major problem.
The only problems that occured were:
-The ground to the motor was corroded and it power was draining (not really motor related).
-Last month, my check engine light ultimately came on (for the first time ever) and the O2 sensor was replaced promptly and no issues at all.
Best of luck to you and please post the final product!

Thanks for your time on the reply. Couple of questions.
1. how did the wire corrod. was it easy to replace
2. where did you get the replacement O2 sensore and how much.
As for the Crusie Control, My thought process is that the for an automatic, the car downshfits and accelerates when needed. For a manuel, the CC just shuts off. This is the issus that i am thinking of.
Let me know at your ealiest convinence what you think.
Thanks
Ikaika

2) I got it from a friend, but the O2 sensor would cost no more than $100 or so from a dealer.
Cruise control is available on manual transmission cars, I believe they function similarily to cars with auto transmissions. To my knowledge, I could be wrong, the car doesn't really downshit and up shift when you are on cruise control. If you set the cc at 55MPH, it will stay there or if it fluctuates, the car will gas or brake... no need to downshift. Cruise control disengages when the cc button is pressed or the brake is applied manually.
Hope this helps.

Kool, this helps a lot.
THe thing with the CC is this. I am going to school in northern AZ. When I have the CC set on my car, and I am coming back from Phoenix and i take the hill, the car down shifts when it need to maintain speeds. According to my friends who has a manuel integra GS, he says that the CC just disenages. This was my concern. The the ECU tell the Cruise COntrol the down shift, or in the case of a manuel, to disengage. Then again, why would you have the CC set on a hill.
One more thing, trigger for the reverse lights work on the conversion. Also, did you need to get a different gauge cluster.

The reverse lights work perfectly. The gauge cluster is still the same, no need to change. My car still shows the P R N D D3 D2 D1 on the gauge, for now...

Kool dude. Thanks for the help.
Where did you get all the parts to do the conversion. Did you get a new pedal assembly. How did the wireing work for the Gauge and ECU. Did you just plug in the wiring harness you got from the swap kit??
Thanks
Ikaika
