Spring Suggestions for H22 Civic
Well, I finally got everything and I'm going to install it this weekend.
I also got an integra rear sway bar(stock oem) when I bought some hubs/rotors/calipers to convert my drums. I know the sway bar will bolt right up to my civic but do you think it's worth my time... if there's any benefit it will only be temporary until I can save up some money to replace it with whatever I decide to go with... just deciding whether I should bother with it or just wait.

do you have integra rear LCAs? You'll need either those or ex sedan LCAs and endlink hardware in order for the swaybar to bolt up. I'd say go for it, it'll definitley make a difference. The gs-r bar is 19mm, I believe, but I'm not sure on that. When you decide to upgrade, I'd go with an adjustable like the Skunk2 22mm rear sway over the ITR... just to help fine-tune your suspension. I think with your setup, you'll want all the adjustability you can get.
Ok... I got all of my struts and springs in and am stumped. My passenger front strut makes a clunking sound when I go over bumps.... it sounds about identical to a bad strut that makes that clunking sound. I've taken the wheel off like three times to check everything out and have completely removed the strut/spring twice and put it all back together.... any suggestions?!?!?!
Also everything was tightened under load properly by placing a jack under the knuckle and jacking it up to compress the strut/spring and place it under load then tightened according to the Honda service manual but somethings not right?!?!?

how much do the springs lower the front? You might be hitting your bumpstops if you haven't cut them short. :dunno:
If your bumpstops are cut, and the spring is seated properly, you might have gotten a bad strut.

The springs are supposed to be a 2" drop but I haven't measured yet since putting them in to see how much the actual drop was....and Nope, I cut the bumpstops and everything before reassembling the new damper....
I figured out my problem though. After bouncing the car up and down while the hood was open, I could see excessive play with the piston shaft in the bushing at the strut tower. I backed the lock nut off of the shaft and pulled out the top bushing and to my amasement, the lower bushing that sits inside of the spring collar between the collar and the top of the dust cover was missing. Also missing was the 1" tube spacer.
h:
I remember assembling all of the bushings and tube spacers and inserting them in the spring collar but apparently one of them fell out prior to getting the collar over the shaft and on top of the spring.... so basically every time I hit a bump the strut would come up and send the steel boot/dust cover slamming into the spring collar and the shaft would rattle back and forth making all of that noise I heard.
I can't believe that's all it was and even more I can't believe I didn't notice the bushing and spacer fall out when I was assembling everything.
Anyhow she handles much better now and there's no more cringing at bumps. .... now on to the rest of the suspension
