Default 6 speed

hello,
does anyone know if you can bolt up and use a 6speed tranny to a b16a or b18a. I am planning to put a b16a into a 91 civic std.

also any suggestions what swap i should do, b16 or b18?

thank-you

there is no 6 speed that i know of that will bolt onto a b series engine. there maybe custom units out there, but expect to pay mad $$$.

as for what engine to swap, thats depending on what you're planning to do with the car. the b16 makes its power up high but has no low end torque. the b18a has plenty of low end but not as good high end.

Dear god, not this again!

There are a bunch of different B18 engines and a few different B16 engines. Which one did you want to use? At any rate, any B18 will be a better choice then a similarly priced B16.

B18A/B > B16A (SiR)
B18C > B16A (SiR-II)
B18C5 > B16B (CTR)

The aerospeed ctr, is just that a Civic Type-R, hence a 6-speed transmission.. whats the engine code for that a k20a1??

correct me if I am wrong anybody

Snoopy: I think there might be some custom 6-speed as well as sequential gearboxes out there for B-series but again like you said...

That has a K-series engine. The new body Civics do not use B-series engines, and they do not share transaxles.

Could you bolt up a 6-speed from the old 4wd Civic wagon to a D16Z6? the 4WD had the D16A6, and it would be pretty damn cool to have a 6-speed Sol.

It's not a 6-speed like you would think. First is really a super-low for towing and pulling purposes, not really a driving gear.

Yeah, I read that after I posted. I wonder if you could replace the gear set for better driving. I'm also sure it wouldn't work, because it's made for a 4WD system correct? I'd consider it if it would work. I think it would be worth it to rebuild the tranny with new internals. If it were possible, an AWD Sol would also be cool, but that would be pretty darn hard to do.
