Default distributor question..mainly dx=ex?

i currently have a DX distrubutor mounted b/c my EX distrubutor went out....the car feels "weaker", lack for a better word....probably my timing if off since i replaced it.

question is:...any power/volt difference between an DX auto distributor and my EX manual distributor?

which brings up other questions:

any way i can check and rule out what components of my EX distributor are faulty? (i.e. igniter, coil)...prices?

spank you, h|a haha

My friend has the same problem. His ex distributor went out and he was using a dx distributor on his ex and he was losing power. I swaped the igniter over to the ex distributor and it runs great. try that and see what happens.
