95 teg overheating
My friend's teg is overheating, on the temp gauge, and it runs itself dry.
He has replaced the thermostat, and the water pump, and redid the timing while he was at it. timing is still one tooth off
He doesn't think it's the head gasket, because there is no oil in the coolant, and no coolant in the oil.
Where should he look next, thanks guys.

I would check to see if the radiator cap is holding the specified PSI. If this problem happened after a coolant change then make sure you bleed air out of the system when filling it up with coolant. There could be air trapped in the head if not bleed out. Also have the whole system pressurized to check for leaks. It can also be a clogged radiator too so look inside your radiator if it's got build-up in there.
Mines about dead from overheating. No sign of water in the oil. Combustion residue in the water is minor. Eats water FAST nowdays but not bad at first. Found a rusty spark plug for the first clue. A month later I have 2 rusty plugs and pulling the plugs on a hot engine with pressure still on the radiator I can hear the hissing from the two center cyl's.
Hope its just a gasket but with high miles and lots of grime on the back of the car I think its time for that B20 I been wanting.
