My friend's teg is overheating, on the temp gauge, and it runs itself dry.

He has replaced the thermostat, and the water pump, and redid the timing while he was at it. timing is still one tooth off

He doesn't think it's the head gasket, because there is no oil in the coolant, and no coolant in the oil.

Where should he look next, thanks guys.
