92 hatch d15b
i blew the motor in my 92 hatch i had the cruddy d15d non vtec 1.5 i purchased a jdm d15b because of the economical power gain (same tranny and axles as my old car 30+ more horespower)The problem is now that it has been droped in it won't start. the mechanic has checked for spark and ignition he put on a new timing belt so the timing should be good the distributor was swaped from another moter at the time of purchase but it has been adjusted to fire the same cylinder as the motor the only thing left that the mechanic can think of is the compression he willl be picking up a compression tester tommow is there anything you guts can think of i still have my stock ecu in the i'm aware that it won't engage the vtec but i have been told by several people that it should run the motor
I know a non vtec ecu will run usdm v-tec motors but I am not sure about the no vtec ecu run vtec jdm motor do you have any friends with 1.6 sohc vtec motors see if they will let you brow it for a few hours and try that
Is it getting fuel? If you pull the plugs, they should be wet from the injectors firing it in and it not getting combusted. Make sure everything is quiet and put your key in and turn it over but don't start it, you should hear the pump come on and hum for a second or two. Also, double check the firing order, make sure the right clyinder is getting the spark.

That was the other thing I was going to suggest if it had fuel, check every ground. There's a large on that also goes from the transmition to the passanger side frame rail. Make sure their connected, better yet, take some sand paper or a wire brush and clean them up and clean up the connection points on the chassis so you get a solid ground.
