starting problem
Has anyone had this problem.
My 92 prelude SI usually runs great but every now and then it will crank but not start. I checked it for spark and it looks good but the car still doesn't start. If I let the car sit for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, it will start up without a problem.
Does this sound familiar to any of you good people?
Thanks,
Wesley

its gonna either be spark, fuel, or air related, first thing to check is ur spark plugs, cap and rotor, and spark plug wires, then u may want to check ur fuel injectors, and fuel filter, then check ur air filter make sure that isnt clogged or disgusting, do u notice any loss of power while driving or is it just during start up? could also be that ur battery is discharged or bad. whens the last time u did a full tune up?
Sounds like the main relay, it's a common problem with Hondas. Listen for the fuel pump to prime, it's not real loud, but it should run for 2 seconds when you turn the key on.
Air filter has to be really bad to prevent starting. It'll run real bad at high rpm & high load, but idling doesn't pull much air thru. To lose air you almost have to stuff a softball in your intake pipe.
