Default Engine noise 1988 Legend

I recently purchased a 1988 Legend everything was fine I started getting this ticking sound after I took it in to have the oil changed. So I changed the oil and put in some 20w50 and it went away. Then a couple days later I get this louder ticking and it sounds like it is coming from the plenum. It has a v6 2.7 engine, 300000km (180000miles)Could this be the lifters? When the car gets up to operating temperature is when I get the sound and it has a hard sound to it. After a couple of miles if you take the revs above 3000rpm it goes away, any one heard of this before? I am going to be doing the timing belt soon as I don't know if it has ever been done. Should I replace the oil pump while I am there? or should I just save my money and look for another engine??

This is my ride attached
