Default 1992 Integra ECU Chipped Problem?!?!

I just got my ECU Chipped (had a eletronics co. solider the 2 sockets, caps, and resistor on for me) and I seem to be having a small (maybe big problem) with it. SOMETIMES when I sit and hold the idel between 1500-3000RPM's it will drop all of a sudden to 800-1000RPM's on its own and then go back up. It keeps on doing this over and over until I either let off the gas or rev it higher. Maybe a problem with the chip?

That does kinda sound like a software problem.

I agree with phiz, but also have seen bad eeproms - when people don't handle them in a static free environment. Where did you get your chip from? Some of the shareware stuff that's out there is corrupted.

I'll have a burner pretty soon, and I'm getting heavy into ecu hacking. I also have a stage 2b on the way, which I will be upgrading to s200b, with datalogging, and romeditor.

I have access to prom burners at school right now, if I had some blanks, I'd send this kid out a decent rom, have him ship me his, and then take it apart, see what it looks like...

I think I'm going to drop the s200 into clients cars, tune with the hondata, and then plot the fuel/timing curves with a different application, and burn stand-alone chips.

Oh, I'm also going to get/build a lambda meter.

Cool! I'd be really interested in finding out how well the s200b works out for you. I wanted to look into that myself, but I'm just sick of all the garbage software out there - BTW have you heard about the software package being sold in the WTB/FS thread here on HAN?... the guy wants about 120 bucks for it and says it will edit fuel maps, ignition timing and vtec rpm. It's also supposed to come with all sorts of aftermarket programs like spoon, fields, RPT, mugen, etc. - I'm very sceptical about this. I think his website is www.ecusrus.com if I'm not mistaken.
