they only consern you should have about the cable/hydro is what your car had to begin with. other than that the cable trannys have different splines on the main shaft so the clutch is different.

if you shop around, you can find a 3rd gen teg Ls tranny for about 500...

Actually the clutch and pressure plate are exactly the same. I have a clutchmaster's stage 3 from a 2000 ITR in my 93 LS (cable tranny) And it works like a charm.
