Piston Rings?
I belive I have burned the piston rings out of two of my cylinders. Now my question is I have a 1st gen B16a and are the piston rings the same as the USDM B16's? Thanks in advance for your response.
Thanks, ColinT
Thanks, ColinT
well it runs on about what sounds to be 2 cylinders and the spark plugs are totally covered in oil. Im not 100% on the piston rind theory just preparing for the worse. Going to crack it open on Monday.
Thanks for your input.

Takes like 10 - 15 min to do a compression test... JMO
A compression test will just give you compression numbers, but a leakdown test will give you the location of your loss of psi's, my car came up with 180, 180, 145, 175. I replaced the headgasket and am not burning oil
, and the plugs are clean, i think its the valves, im praying its the valves, a leakdowntest will show the true culprit though

By cracking it open I mean taking it to the shop and doing all the proper test. Well going to get to the nitty gritty tommorow will keep you in know. Thanks for your input.
