Default Identifying the engine in your car

I'm not too familiar with engine swapping and all that. To make a long story short I apparently got an integra type r engine swapped into my 98 civic ex. All I know is the engine says B18c on it but there seems to be many variations. The whole thing ended in a court case, but basically all I want to know is how can I tell exactly what engine is in my car?

left side of the engine as you're facing it, just below where the head and block meet. there should be a flat spot with the engine code stamped on it.

It says just B18C, how do I know if it's b18c spec r or gsr or even one of the b18c1-5? Sorry I really don't know much. I was told a jdm b18c type r but considering how the swap went down, I'm not sure if I can trust that.

on the head right above one of the exhaust ports is a stamp with the head code. if it says pr3-xxx it is more than likely a jdm type r engine. if it says p73-xxx it's most likely a jdm gsr engine.

fyi, jdm engines dont have a number after the letter designators ie. b18c1, b18c5, etc. only usdm engines will be stamped that way.

Its most likely an sir-g (jdm gsr) then. Or it very well could be an itr block with an sir-g head. Only way to tell otherwise is to look at the internals. But those are easily replaced too.
