This is a regular 1.6 OHC Sedan. I bought it a month ago. It was parked for 2 weeks without starting the engine. It took me a while to start the engine. After that the idle started to go up and down. hen I put it in park it goes al the way to 1500 rpm which is not normal. It wa running fine before and i didn't do no other mechanical work to it. I checked all the vacuum lines, they're ok. Has anyone run into this problem before?

did you check your coolant levels... if your radiator is empty the engine will rev like that

 

coolant level is fine and radiator is full
wha else can i try

 

Check to see if your PCV breather is still fine.
