Default B18A-GSR head ?

Whats good? I have a ? Kno this been mentioned a dozen times, but this guy & I was talking about swaps& the famous Ls/V came about. BTW he have a B18A block w/ Gsr head & P28 ecu tuned. Now what we were going back & forth on was the head/ecu. I've always thought when everyone doing the ls/v swap the PR3/B16 head was the 1 everyone prefered vs the Gsr head/ECU. I know anything GSR is good, but let me know if I'm right.

Thanks a bunch

either one is fine. they flow very similar, with the gsr head providing a slight compression increase.

Oh I gotcha. Another thing I was wondering w/ the ls/v thing. Ok I kno the B18A had 130 hp. The B18B had 142 I believe. Now the 1 gen B16a have 160 & US Gsr have 170 where the JDM Gsr have 180 hp. Now lets say a basic B18A LS block w a 1 gen B16A head. How would you rate the hp since that motor had 130 & the B16 160. Thats what I've always wondered.

Thanks

I always thought the b16 head was preferred over the gsr just because it is the same casting as the type r

Yeah, thats what I thought also ,but the guy do have the B18C1 head. Thats the other thing I'm still trying to figure out is the hp with a B18A block w/ a B16A head or a Gsr head.

hp would be similar given the rest of the build is similar. b16 heads are usually easier to find and cheaper. hence why a lot of people use them.
