I just got my CRX back from the paint shop(my cousin's), and the hood will not open.
It opened when he delivered it, now the cable is loose and will not undo the latch even when I pull on it with vise grips.
I can't really have him drop by to help with problem-just too far to drive, and he is just a painter.
I can't get a screwdriver into the latch area because of the screen I put in to stop stones from hitting the radiator.
Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

I just found out the cable came off the hood latch.
Is there any way to open the hood without having to pound the thing into oblivion? It would be satisfying, though.
I really dont want to damage the front clip or anything, really.

 

I just spoke to the local Honda dealerships service department. They said there is no way to open the hood without either cutting a hole in the hood or tearing the front bumper cover off.
What a P.O.S. this car turned out to be!
If you have an old Honda and it is not modified, don't do it.
For the money you spend is better spent on a down payment for a new one.
Or better yet, buy a good bike and have some money left over.
