anyone ever have to replace an ecu? what were sum of the common symptoms?

normally there's no specific symptoms for a bad ECU, it will just throw out codes that aren't valid, or it will cause really quirky operation. In fact, Honda ECU's even have a code that means "ECU Faulty". Check the codes you're getting from the ECU, and try swapping your ECU with another one that you know is good.

 

usually you'll get a CEL even when the engine isnt running. it's referred to as "self check failure", code 1.
