if i understand you right, i've had the same problem. i have an auto, and it would be stuck in neutral (while driving normally) until it caught. i would just have to wait until it actually caught to do anything, otherwise it would just rev and rev. it was my tranny (the gears were stripped because my fan wasn't turning on because my thermostat was busted. i had to get a new tranny (why i didn't just convert to manual while doing it, i'll never know....or yeah, g-parents paid for it) and it took care of it.

Anyone else with a 98 have problems like mine?

I'm trying to weigh the pros & cons of going in to do a swap...
i have the same problem on my 95 civicn ex 5speed.....the only mod i have a an intake so that wouldn't cause the problem couse i had that problem before the intake....i though it might be either the fuel system problem or the ignition problem.....couse it feels like either there is not enough fuel coming in or like the car is running on 3 cylinders when i press the gas....if i press the gas very lightly no problem but if i press is moderatly it starts lagging, i'm assuming its ignition related......do u guys think changing spart plug wires will do anything? or is there anyway to check if the ignition system running correctly?
