which hb is better for swap?
ok... which hatch would be better to do a swap? i mean in terms of the degree of easy of dropping the engine in without having the hassle of relocating the engine mount and what not. i been searching for 92-97hatch... and was also wondering if someone can tell me which one would you choose and why?
You can drop a B series engine into 5th a gen hatch with B series mounts quite easilly. If you were doing the same with a 6th gen, you would need an Si rear mount. As far as the pros and cons of either hatch, the 5th gen hatch is generally a bit lighter than the 6th gen, although a 5th gen Si hatch might not be much lighter, if at all, than a 6th gen CX with no options. Other than that, it's up to your personal preference. If you want OEM ammenites like a moonroof, power mirrors, power locks, 4-wheel disc, etc, then look into a 5th gen Si(although power locks and 4-wheel disc were options, so it may be hard to find one that has them). If you want the lightest platform for a swap, and you don't need all the extras, look into a 5th gen VX or CX. If you like the 6th gen styling and don't really care about the weight difference, get a 6th gen.
