obd1 vs obd2 b16
i am lookin into swapping a b16 into my 94 civic sohc vtec. if i did the b16 obd1 (to save $1000) am i goin to run into any problems and is this the recomended swap?
Im just lookin for reasons why i should go one way or the other. thanks!

what about the cable clutch issue vs. the hydraulic? My understanding is that the late model 89-91 b16 came with the cable clutch and can be found for around 1500 and the b16a3 and b16a2 the del sol and Si motors respectively, came with the hydraulic clutch and a steeper price tag. thats just my take
alright the transmission shouldnt be a problem, there both hydraulic, OBD1 and OBD2 B16s are both hydraulic ( USDM side atleast, the B16s in the del sols were OBD1 and the 99-00 Sis were OBD2 )
I dont really get the question? it should be pretty obvious to drop the OBD1 in a OBD1 car.
theres really no point what so ever to put the the first gen b16s in your car, youd need to convert from hydraulic to cable, OBD issues, are just somethings that can go wrong. It would be a lot cheaper to just get the 92-95 B16s
