What is sometimes called a b16a2? B16 is b for the engine "style" 16 for the 1.6 litre, A for american spec, and the 2 for second jen. the year can be found stamped on the head just above the header in 4 little circle and will tell you year month day and hour built. the year may say 99 but that prob means it was released in '00 though.

If you have a obd1 car put in an obd1 engine. i sugest a 97 or 98 type-r. (itr)
That prob doesnt matter to someone that asked the question 3 years ago. I hope the swap is done.
