Default Next step for my b18c1??

What should i do next??

I just got my b18c1 GSR motor swap on my EG hatchback. As of right now, i am going for all motor. It is fast and great! but some reason i feel like i can do a little more mods , but i have no clue wat to do next. So far These are the mods that been done to the motor:

B18C1 motor (stock head)
b16 hydro tranny
ACT stage 3 clutch
spoon pistons (type R)
CTR exhaust and intake cams
JG cam gears
JDM 4-1 headers
2.5" piping straight to the back , cat removed
B&M fuel regulator
Stock p72 GSR ecu

What kind of mod should i do next?? Nothing too expensive right now becuz i got bills to pay.

Also i am not sure which intake manifold to get. Should i get Skunkworks or JG Edelbrock??? My friends told me that the JG manifold need to be rev high to make power which is around 7000rpm and is mainly for turbo. Is my car ready for a modified ecu or chipped ECU?? Becuz my car is running on a stock head rite now.

The last thing i want to get for my car is head works but i want to do later later on.

Any Suggestions would be great!!!

Thanks!!!!

Get a skunk manifold over the JG. The big plenum of the JG is more suited for boost. I'd say next step would be a skunk manifold, nice p&p job, and valvesprings/retainers.

:werd: After that header and flash the ecu if you dont have a otn of money. Then if you can, do that valve train for some bigger cams.

i'd also look into getting and over bore tb.

i have a skunk2 manifold for my b18c1 sitting at home, and it's mated to the ericks racing 70 mm tapered to 68 mm tb. i'm having the skunk2 manifold port matched. 70mm is a tad big for a NA motor, but eventually my motor will see boost.

you could look into the 68 tapered to 66 tb from ericks. but it looks like your down with doing engine build up. so i'd recommend the 70mm tapered to 68, and look at doing vafc or a chipped p28 or something, or even a hondata but i find that hondata is beneficial to the boost motors than the NA motors.

if you plan to rev your motor past the stock redline upwards of 9000+ rpms, than the JG may make more sense, but honestly the skunk2 would make more sense for the street since you won't be redlining it at the merge lan.

Default What's up?

If you still using your factory computer and valvetrain, I would probably consider upgrading those first along with some sort of fuel tuning device (like a V-AFC). You have a good set of cams, but your really not taking advantage of everything they can offer without upgrading the valvetrain and tuning your fuel curve to take full advantage of them. That's probably what I would recommend. You'll probably see more power gain and a smoother running engine with some tuning and a better valvetrain than you would with any real engine upgrade looking for power. Seeya.

I have 2 chips in for your P72, an XS and a Jun, I'd recommend the XS for your setup, the CTR dyno to 8200 from what I've seen, I shifted my old b16a w. CTR cams and stock valvetrain at 8400-8500 rpms DAILY, never had a problem at all, power didn.t seem to roll of until about 8500 in my car. If interested I do ecu burns for $100, chip and labor.

Hondata and an hour onm the dyno. Much better off than any chip or Vafc.

Hondata is a little overkill for a basic setup IMO.
