Default F22 --> H22

Right now I have a 92 Prelude S with the F22 engine. Would it be worth it to upgrade to a Vtec H22, or should I just buy a new car? How much do they usually cost? And is there an H22-A as well as H22-B? And what are the HP outputs?

From what I've seen... the engine alone, swap ready, will usually cost between $1500-2000. Having someone install it for you is typically $500-1000.

I have a 96 Prelude S and I plan on doing a swap as soon as I can pay off most of the car and have some left over for a good swap.

hey clickwir.....when you do it are you going to go jdm or usdm? I have heard all the nightmares about going JDM with people saying the motors have sat for a long time and them dying right after they start up etc.....who is a credible place that sells decent motors you can trust, or do you not know where you will get it yet?

I haven't heard of those problems with JDM, I'm planning on going JDM. I'll also be going from F22 -> H22.

I have not done a swap yet, I plan on saving up and doing one 3/4year to a year from now. I need to pay off the car payments first. I've heard good things from http://www.osakajdmmotors.com/ Of course I have not dealt with them yet, but they seem to have a good price ($1850) and have been highly recommended by other members here.

I dont see how they can offer the motor, tranny, and ecu for 1850. Is it really high mileage or something?

They're JDM, so they aren't emissions legal in some states(like Cali). Mileage varies.

They say they are between 10k miles and 30k. So that's not very high in my book. I try not to ask too many questions. Good price? Ok with me. :thumbup:
