Default cut heads?

I have a friend with an old Subaru Legacy and anytime he tries to race someone and wins, he goes on about because Subaru has cut heads and it helps make more power. He doesn't know what he's talking bout, the dealer told him that back when he bought it. Is there such a thing and what is it?

Yeah, there is such a thing, all it does is make sure the gasket surface is flat [so you don't blow one], and maybe raise the compression a bit.
