Stock B18A1 crank
I was wanting to know how much abuse can the stock B18A1 crank take? I know that Honda makes their cranks very strong to begin with, but if I were to run forced induction how much boost can it handle before I would have to go to a stronger crank? Also what about the bearing caps, cap bolts, and bearings how much can they take?
The guy who dyno'd me last had a b18b setup and had a RH stage 2 turbo kit on it and he was running 12psi boost (256whp) with a block guard and then later that week he moved it to 15psi (289whp). He said he's run 18psi at the track with no problems.
He was making pretty good #'s with the non-vtec and pretty much no other mods except hondata, JE pistons, crower rods and RC 440cc injectors.
That thing made one hell of a sleeper.

If you want to do any machine work you can have it magnafluxed, cryo-treated and then balanced with the other parts of the reciprocating assembly. Other than that there's not much to do, the stock crank is forged to begin with.

I would consider putting in a GSR crank if it was me. You'd get the equivalent of a ls/vtec setup with more reliability.

You can't just put in a GSR crank, you also need the rods. Also if you consider the price of a crank it's simpler to just get the whole GSR shortblock and make use of the oil squirters and girdle.
