Default what do you think?..

what do you guys think about using a turbo with a garrett a/r 1.06 M3 turbine and a garret a/r .42 compressor on a d16y5 (civic hx)? plan on running no more than 7psi on stock internals and the appropriate fuel and ignition system upgrades. i'm pretty sure i know what yous are going to say and i would probly say the same thing if someone asked me. but the turbo's never been used and is just sitting in the garage screaming to boost. and if the outcome is that ****ty then i'll just swap in a new turbo and be done with it, so what the hell...oh yea,.im broke and to do this i need an exhaust manifold with an external wastegate port, and a wastegate,,,so if anyone has any they're looking to get rid of fairly cheap, let me know.

I'm not familiar with an M3 turbine, but 1.06 a/r seems pretty high. Exactly how big is an M3? The compressor side a/r seems fine, but 1.06 turbine a/r will take days to spool, unless the M3 is a very small turbine. If it's comparable to a T3 turbine, I don't even think you'll be able to spool it. Do you have any pics or a rough estimate of its size? I'm really curious to see what it looks like. You can find log style manifolds for relatively cheap if you're on a budget. They can be had for around $200 with whatever turbine and w/g flanges you want. They don't exactly flow that great, but they get the job done without draining your wallet. Or, you can try to find an OEM VX or STD manifold and machine an adapter plate to bolt a turbo to it, but it'd probably cost almost as much as a log manifold would in the end. Post a pic of that M3 if you can, I'd like to see what it looks like.

I'll get a pic of the turbo as soon as i can get use of a scanner. as far as manifolds we've been making them out out crx HF manifolds and manifolds with the cat built in,.,.its just probly too much work to make one with a port for a wastegate.
