I'm running 8-10lbs of boost daily on completely stock D16Y8 internals. Stock ringlands are usually the first to go...

Oh, I see. I really feel like crap right now, because my friend's CRX burned oil and he was constantly adding oil to it. Well, that engines gone now having blown a rod because it lacked oil. I don't need that in my car. I need a newer stock engine.

Haha, and I thought I was the only one to do that...

I remember when we had to replace the piston rings on my old '83 Monte Carlo. Those cars were so much easier to work on and it still cost $350. But of course, you could go ahead and remove the head and stuff so that their labor costs wouldn't be so much. Of course that's if the rings are the problems.

here's an update:

I just did a compression test and it yielded about 160 as lowest and 173 as highest. That does not seem like a big difference to me so now I'm really stumped. No oil in coolant, no rapid loss of oil, could it be something in the cat?

That's not that much of a difference between cylinders, and your overall numbers seem decent enough. When you had the plugs out for the compression test, did they look overly discolored to you? That's usually a good indicator of the running condition of the engine. Overly white plugs usually mean you're running lean, overly black plugs mean you're running rich. One of those conditions may cause smoke to come out the exhaust. Black smoke is running rich. If the plugs look fine, are you sure the smoke you're seeing isn't just condensation from the air? You did say your coolant and oil levels have been fine, right?

I think that's all it is. I did check the plugs they had a normal electrode shape and the color on the end was a brownish tan with no glazing and no carbon. No oil on the plugs either.

It IS cold outside. I just see the smoke out my mirror [still a white color] when I have the car at normal temp. OH WAIT I FORGOT TO MENTION SOMETHING. When I'm driving the car the temp is REALLY REALLY low. Could my themostat be stuck open? That would explain my weird temp readings. It will heat up on idle [because my fans won't come on for whatever reason it never gets high] but when I'm driving the temp is low low.
