What the difference between the AEM CAI and the AEM Short Ram Air Intake? Is it enough that you can tell the difference when they're on your car?

A short ram is just that...much shorter than a cold air intake. A short ram makes power by shortining the air snorkus, but a cold air makes power by drawing in colder (more dense) air from outside the engine bay. 9/10 times you will make significantly more power with the cold air.

Short rams are notorious for being great untill the engine and exhaust get hot. When this happens it sucks in "hot" underhood air, where a CAI is sucking cold air from benind the bumper or wheel well area. Hot air = less HP, its that simple, do a search for more specific hp differences on specific models of CAI's and SRI's
