Short rams are notorious for being great untill the engine and exhaust get hot. When this happens it sucks in "hot" underhood air, where a CAI is sucking cold air from benind the bumper or wheel well area. Hot air = less HP, its that simple, do a search for more specific hp differences on specific models of CAI's and SRI's
