Default home compression test

I did the test where you let your arc run until warm then start from left to right and pull the plug wires and if their is a significant drop in rpm's then that cylinder has compression. well when i pulled each one each cylinder had a drop but it didnt seem like it was very big, you know like it will kill the car has anyone else tried this and what did it sound like?any help would be appreciated since i plan on a ls/vtec swap(i have a 94 teg rs 118+ miles)or turbocharging it.

Why don't you get a compression tester, and test each cylinder induvidually?

acura: I wouldn't worry about that... I mean... that's a nice try and everything but it seems kinda jankie way to do things go borrow a compression tester from someone and have a ball.

While you're at it, u can check the plugs... AND u can regap them if you're all anal like me lol

A compression tester is like $25, and a good tool to keep around.

o yea... here's my numbers... don't shoot for these cuz ur compression isn't supposed to be 12:1 (mine's actually like 11.3:1 we found out.

225, 228, 236, 218 these are NOT numbers that I like... but they're liveable... cylinder 4 had a leaky valve and the machinist just refaced the valve and it obviously didn't do very well lol
