ive heard this thrown around as well. some kid was telling me that its the fastest "perfect fit" for my accord that i could get. and that i could find one for pretty cheap that was basically refurbished and had no miles on it.

he said they stopped making it in 95ish but they still like put new parts on the old ones and make em like new. i dont know :O/

LS = b18a or b18b short block
vtec = b18c1/5 or b16a/b head
LS + vtec = ls vtec

search for it in the civic, integ, hybrid, tech forums.

LS VTEC uses the botton end of a Integra LS motor which is known for more torque but less high end horsepower. and it uses a VTEC head from a B18 (in the Integra GSR). so you get both the low end torque and the high end horsepower. it has been known to be unrealiable. and you cannot put it into your accord. that would just be plain stupid. it is meant for light cars like integras and civics. if your gonna get an engine swap H22a is the way to go not some B series engine.

hp numbers for an lsvtec will vary depending on how you build it and what you build it with.

you can use any vtec head (b16a, b18c, b17, etc.) and it is only as reliable as you build it. so if you build it half assed expect it do die half assed. with any engine rebuild you wanna replace all the bearings and balance the bottom end if you wanna rev it high.
