TWM! on a d16a6?
Will one of those TWM throdlebodies work on a D16A6? I just looked at there web site and noticed that they dont have one for the d16a6, at least not on there web site. So my question is will the one for the B16A work on the D16A6? I mean how much diff is there between the manifold ports?
its not to hard to make ur own manifold. Most people make their own manifolds, and then buy the throttles or DCOE carbs. All u really need to do is cut off the head flange off your intake manifold(or get a spear one so u can save ur original), weld on the 4 aluminum tubes, and then weld on the throttlebody/carb flange.

TWM sells a manifold to bolt DCOE-style carbs to the D-series head. They also sell throttles intended to bolt in place of a DCOE-style carb.
I had actually been throwing this idea around for a lil while on my own since ITB's are legal for CSP in Solo-II and motor swaps are not.
Here's essentially what you'd need, although it works better if you call up TWM and ask for what exactly you'd need since this is just what I threw together from looking over their catalog.
8-0102 manifold
2900-4502 throttles (x2)
2900-4550 air horns (x4)
2900-1577 airbox
You'll also need a throttle linkage, fuel rail, pressure regulator, hi-flow pump and four fuel injectors and injector clips.
Aside from that you need some sort of programmable fuel computer and depending on which one you get, a way to get some kind of MAP sensor reading. Some programmable ECUs have the capability of running without a MAP sensor and instead compute fuel values based on TPS and RPM. Maybe mrmike can shed some light on this, since he has em up and running in his car.

I know the AEM EMS can run a TPS and RPM based map. It's the closest to plug-n-play but they don't have any applications for the non-OBD Hondas.
So unless there's some way to rig up a MAP sensor you'll need to go with a custom installed standalone.
The price is rather prohibitive for all of this. Figure like $2300 for the assorted parts, plus another $1500 for engine management...all just to put ITB's on a D16 and match the output of a warmed-over B16. You can get a B16 swap for like $1200. Add $600 worth of mounts and shifter linkage and you're still in below the cost of just the parts for the ITB's.
Now if you're trying to build some kind of monster CSP car I can understand why ITB's would be the choice but otherwise a B16 is far cheaper.
