Quite frankly, Spoon/Mugen/Toda stuff is ridiculously overpriced, as is C's/J, and all the rest. Exporters and merchants charge what they do, not because of quality, but because they have a stranglehold on the supply.

In general, you'll be far better off by mixing and matching products according to what works and what doesn't, rather than getting brand-loyal to a JDM company because of some arbitrary selection.

I won't say they don't make some good stuff. Spoon and Mugen have a variety of really nice products. Will I pay $500 for their valve springs? No. $300 for their retainers? No. For a far lower price, you can get better products from other manufacturers.
