quick question..h22 swap..

Default quick question..h22 swap..

will an h23 ecu work with an h22 motor?? both are 96's..my car is automatic..and from what i've been hearing..the vtec models for that year only came in manual...true??

Without rewiring it won't work, just buy the p13

you mean the 93-95 ecu's?? well one thing is i wanna keep my car auto and my motor is a 96 so its obd2 and i dont wanna convert to obd1 cause of smog and emissions and such...sorry..i'm new to this thing...i'm stuck at what to do now...

yea i know...just dont know where to look for one, bascially checked everywhere for one...any tips of where to look for one?? besides ebay and junkyards...checked them already...and wouldnt any obd2 h22 ecu work??

You're gonna have to find a p13 from a 96 Prelude Automatic....a manual ecu won't work and your car won't shift at the required points....97+ is a P24 or something or other....they changed the ECU when they brought out the BB6

EDIT: And if im not mistaken they never made a Prelude H22 with an auto tranny

yea i kinda figured, do you know of any place or site where i can try to look up for a jdm p13 ECU for my 96?? yes, the U.S. never made an auto vtec prelude so i'm gonna need to find a jdm version of the ECU...any ideas??

Let's take this back a step.....where is the H22 engine from, a 96?...are you sure?

nevermind...i'm converting to obd1, so i gotta see if i can pass emissions now haha. but yea, that would be my only problem now. thanks for the help though, any ideas on passing emissions?? i'm from wi.

i've read somewhere that jdm ecu's dont have the immobilizers for 97+. is that true?? if so, i should be able to use the jdm p5m ecu correct?? heres the link...
