Default Need Help With Engine Sensors....

I Bought a 1995 Acura Integra that has a 2000 Integra Engine. The engine runs well and i drive it everyday, but the oxygen sensor plug from the car wont fit on the 2000 engine. I tried to see if i could put the 1995 sensor on the 2000 engine but it will not fit. should i try to find a 2000 plug end to fit the oxygen sensor and splice** it on the car? or would the cars computer even read the 2000 sensor correctly?? please give me advise. Also the idle control sensor in the car is making the engine surge really bad, is the sensor bad is is it that the 95 computer can read the sensor correctly? i need some advise/ opinions or what would you do?

** The 1995 engine that was taken out was not vtec gsr and neither is the 2000 one.

Are you using the engine harness and computer from the 95 or the 2000? The difference is that the 95 is and obd1 and the 00 is an obd2. Do you have a check engine light on with the o2 sensor unplugged? The issue is that the 00 engine has more gizmos to lower emissions that the 95 didn't have and the 95 computer won't be able to run them. Also, I think the crank or camshaft position sensor is in a different spot on the obd2 motor. I'd need to look at a schematic, but you will need to get a computer and harness from an obd2 motor in order to run that motor.

ok, well i bought the car with the engine already swapped, so is there a way i can see if they put in the 2000 harness and computer? ( like is there a way i can just look and see the year or a number something on the computer?). yes the check engine light is on and when the car gets warm the idle bounces up and down, up and down. it also runs a little bit to hot, but doesnt overheat or anything.

This thread should be moved to integra. Yeah look at the numbers on the ecu and that will tell you what kind you have. Then cross reference those numbers to find out what year they correspond to. Then grab the engine number B18XXX or whatever it is and post in the Integra thread zone for help. No one comes in here anyways
