I'm on the Ga Tech team. We got third in Detroit this summer and first in England. Our F4i is essentially STOCK. . .just fully rebuilt with all o.e.m parts. If teams are trying to get high HP by throwing $250,000 at the problem, then they are going about it the wrong way. If we can be HIGHLY competitive against guys with "tricked out engines straight from Honda" with a stock engine, then our countless hours of dyno tuning are obviously paying off. Tuning is the key is FSAE, everyone runs the same restrictor, everyone has the same displacement limit, so you better get your motor running as well as possible. We tested like 4 or 5 different exhaust mani designs on our current car and have adjustable length intake runners. . .just like with FI, tuning is the KEY!

Yeah Tim. You know my custom made shifter bracket and seat support were 100% responsible for our success!

Its true though. An engine and chassis dyno make a big difference in tuning. We tune pretty much the entire powerband ourselves. We dont need o have honda do it.
