Default Any ideas?

hey guys, wel this is my first post here n i hope you guys can help, Installed my Head unit into my car and it was working fine until one day i broke down cos my battery was dead n it wudnt start the motor.

Since then i got a new alternator and the battery is fine ( or so the little green light on the top says) but now my head unit wnt turn on sumtimes and when it does it dims with the bass and i wont go past a certain volume it just turns off

Also i cnt use it with my head lights cos it wnt come on,

Any ideas? is it a voltage problem?

Cheers Guys n Girls

Check your ground. Is it grounded to the chassis or to the stock ground wire? Are you using your stock wiring harness? Improper wiring will shut down the unit under the load if it cant get the required voltage. I would first check your ground and try grounding it to the chassis. If that doesnt work check to see if your positive wire is properly connected. Did you use electrical take or proper butt connecters / solder ?
Personally I hate stock wiring so I run a 10g wire from my battery direct to the deck/stereo. The stock wiring is cheap and very thin and made to handle a very little powered stock radio. Thats all I got, hope it helped!
