Default replacing coil

Ive heard that one of the best upgrades to do is to get rid of the weak coil in the distributor cap and replace it with a high powered coil like a msd blaster or something. Is this true or is it just another one of those things like throttle body spacers? If anybody can help me out on this i would really appreciate it.

To a large degree, you're being fed bullshit.

It's not a totally useless modification, but for bolt-ons, the OEM ignition is not a bottleneck.

Until you have significantly increased cylinder pressure [by means of forced induction or if N/A, very high static compression] leave the stock ignition in place.

Stock honda ignitions are proven to over 400whp. You've been given some bad information.
