To a large degree, you're being fed bullshit.

It's not a totally useless modification, but for bolt-ons, the OEM ignition is not a bottleneck.

Until you have significantly increased cylinder pressure [by means of forced induction or if N/A, very high static compression] leave the stock ignition in place.
