How Do You Guys Mount Your Blocks to Engine Stands?
I was going to use the tranny bolts to put my spare block on my stand, but they're not even long enough to clear the brackets on the stand. I went to Home Depot, and the closest thing I could find was a 12mm X 1.75 thread, but that was too coarse. Then I was looking at the SAE fine thread stuff, and that looks like it'd match up alright, but they didn't have any in 1/2", which would be the closest thing to 12mm.:dunno:
Also, are flywheel bolts 14mm 12pt? I assumed they were, since the clutch bolts are 12mm 12pt, and my Helm's says the flywheel bolts are 2mm wider in diameter.

I ran into the same problem this summer, I ended up just setting my engine on the ground after trying to find suitable thread material all over the place [I have one engine on the stand, but the stand was actually cut to let the bolts work]. Eventually I'll probably have a set of bolts made assuming I keep working with Hondas.
And yeah, flywheel bolts are 17mm, clutch is 10mm, both 12 pt.

Yah, my spare block has been sitting on my creeper for a week and a half. I don't mind leaving it there, since I can still move it around and I never really used the creeper anyway. However, the fact that I went thru the trouble of assembling my stand and now it's just taking up space does kinda bother me. I guess I'll just call around and ask for 12mm X 1.25 X whatever bolts.
McMaster-Carr has the 12 x 1.25 bolts up to 80mm in length. But they sell them in packages of 50. They also have threaded rod in that size. One meter for $23.68.
