B18b B18C or B16A
A usdm ITR will have b18c5 stamped on the left side of the block near where the tranny mounts. If its a gsr it will say b18c1.
If its jdm, both the ITR and GSR are stamped B18C. One way to differentiate is the intake manifold. A gsr has a much larger dual runner manifold, while an ITR has the same manifold as a b16.

Right. It has B18C stamped on the block and PR3-3 on the head but on the oil pan it has P72. How do I tell if it is a true Type-R with the high compression pistons, with out removing the had to look for a casting number of P73 on the piston????
The ITR should have higher compression numbers, as it has higher compression pistons...
Did you look at your IM?
If it has the IAB system then it's a GSR motor not an ITR...
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the ITR has dual valve springs on both the exhaust and intake valves, whereas the GSR motor only has dual springs on the intake valves...
Well you know that the head is a PR-3, so its more than likley an ITR.
You know that the block stamp is a B18C, JDM engine.
You could check the ECU and verify that its from an ITR. Then run a compression check like said above. Other than that, the only real way to tell is drop the oil pan and have a look at the crank.
The only possibility that I see here is a "poor mans ITR", which is a GSR block and a B16 head. Is the seller claiming a full swap, including LSD tranny? Are there any mods to the car?

Yes he is claming a full JDM swap with LSD and all. I looked at the car and it has the S80 tanny but I could not find the LSD ink stamp. It has carbon fiber intake, header and for some reason a full port polish on the head. And your usual new waterpump, oil pump, timing belt etc.
