Default I Need Help...

Before we get started!! I recently had my bottom-end re-done (srp block guard, arp rod bolts and head studs, New rings etc. etc.). So my buddy and I just got it back together and running (kinda) in the car. We took it for a test drive the other day and it was smokin a bunch, yea it was new engine but still it didnt clear out and we made it home on 3cycls. and found out that oil was fowling out plug-3 (cylinder 3). We did compression check, and its fine. Whats next in trouble shooting..anything will help. Thanks guys.

do a leakdown test. did you properly break it in before the test drive?

Well, lets start by explaining what you mean by "Its not like i drove it hard either".

Are you turbo?
Break-in means "babying" the car by not revving up, no more than partial throttle, NO BOOST, basically driving like an old man...

There are some who believe in breaking in their cars "hard" mainly to seat the rings... I've read all about it, but IMO this will do more harm than good...

rings need pressure to seat. the only way to get this is by putting a load on the engine and running it hard, to a point. if the afr's are within reason up to a point you can rag on it all you want up to that point.

the optimal way to do a break in is on the dyno then tune it immediately after. people that fuck up their freshly built engines are those that dont know the afr's and start dogging on it right away. run it lean for just a few minutes and you start fucking things up.

Sounds like the oil control ring wasn't seated or aligned properly
