Default Vacuum Leak Check

How does one check for a vacuum leak?
The following is as much as I know. Somoene else continue.

STEP 1. Remore air intake manafold and block with hand
a) if car stalls (stops) == No leak likely
b) if car continues to run == leak definite

... any text and general diagrams of vacuum lines in 97 acura integra LS will help

You just want to disconnect the intake tube from the throttle body. Any hose that connects directly to the intake manifold is a vacuum hose. The method you speak of will work to an extent.

If you are positive there is a leak somewhere, you can spray Throttle Body or Carb cleaner around the IM and look for bubbles.

You would need a huge leak in order for the car to stay on after blocking off the intake. Take carb cleaner of some sort and mist it around the area you suspect is leaking, listen carefully to the idle of the engine and if it fluctuates, stutters, etc. then you can narrow it down from there. If you have access to a scan tool you can check the activity of the idle air bypass valve while you spray the carb cleaner and it will show a change when you spray the carb cleaner near a leak.
