The whole ls/vtec thing has been covered a ton of times, just click on the search engine and most likely you'll find answers to all of your questions.

how much power do you want to make? how much money do you want to spend?

the ls crank is fine and will handle any amount of power you can throw at it.

Up to about 800HP or so.

Make sure you do ARP rod bolts.
