Default Gsr Problems! plx help...

ok...I got my DB8 stolen a like a month ago...i got it back with a couple of things missing, including my ecu...then i bought a used ecu on eBay and the car acts wierd..it redlines at like 3500rpm, and it has the cel on. i tried to read the code/s from it, but it wont even do that...this motor is completely stock it just had bolt ons..95 (OBD1 :im guessing: )...any help will be greatly appreciated...

What kind of ECU did you buy? Is it the same year GSR computer, or is it chipped?
Ideally, you should use a P72 GSR ecu, but you don't have to...

You say 3500 rpms huh? If the ECU is chipped with Uberdata, and it has the launch control option enabled, there is a bug where it will not let you rev past the set-rpm for the launch control...

This happened to me a couple of times on different occasions...
Also, same thing with the CEL, it will stay lit after the car is turned "on" and then it will not flash for the codes... I had the same problem...

I bet you it's chipped and something is messed up... My problem was fixed after I re-burned the chip with my Moates.net burner...

My big question, is what ECU did you buy? A P72?

yea...he ecu says p72, but the guy that sold it to me said it was a virgin...fully stock...but then again, this is what i was told over an email...i disconnected the spark plug wires 1 by 1, and the engine would start missing everytime that i unplugged a wire except for the #1 cylinder...there was a spark, but im guessing there is no fuel going into that particular cylinder...what can i do??? i dot know anyone else with a obd1 gsr so that i can try the ecu in there car or anything like that. But i do have a couple of friends that have single cam vtec engines with stock p28 ecu's...do you think that trying their ecu in my car could let me know if its a problem in my car(with the wiring/sensors since it was stolen) or the ecu? thnx

sorry it took all this time to reply!! long story...so i tried my friends single slap ecu...p30 i think..but n e ways...it worked way better...so i bought another p72 ecu and it worked like a charm!!! it turned out to be that some 1 had messed around w/ the 1st ecu that i bought so i had a friends friend fix it...he burned a chip w/ a gsr program(i think thats what he said)...it isnt working like its supposed to but it helped me c that it was the ecu that was bad...so i still need to take that ecu to that 1 guy so that he could fix it again...or just install hondata s300...but the car is working fine with the last stock P72 that i bought...

im just posting this for other peoples reference...hopefully it'll help some 1 out in the future!!!
