Default Tuning my b18c1

Ok, so I just swapped a 95 gsr motor into my 93 hatch, and wired it up with the oem gsr harness, and no cel for some reason, but we'll worry about that later. Now my question is do I need to tune the motor? If so how? Or do I just take it to a performance shop?

Current set up
-type r cams
-dual valve springs
-ferrea valves
-head also has 3 angle valve job
-OEM gsr bottom
-4-1 Dc header
-2.5" exhaust w/ cat
-currently running on a skunk2 chipped gsr ecu rev limit 9500, other than that I don't really know what else it has, borrowing it from a friend

Also how much power do you think its making right now?

Which ECU are you using? And which Intake Manifold?

I would get a tunning solution soon to take full advantage of those ITR camshafts. An aftermarket IM would also help, if you're using the GSR's.

Sorry, I didn't see that...

The Skunk 2 "chip" contains generic maps which are IMO, good for nothing... I would get something better to tune with A.S.A.P. And the ITR Camshafts will not make power past 8500. You're not going to gain much with what you have, but that will compliment a turbo setup nicely.

you need something like hondata or crome and a dyno to tune with. if you dont know how to tune you can easily mess something up so leave it to the pro's.

Im using a gsr p72 skunk2 ecu... Should I just put my old one back? And a gsr intake mani, until I pass ref . But if I don't tune yet, could I mess something up?

with that ecu you're running you dont know what the fuel/timing maps look like. you could, and most likely are, running pig rich.

For my mods, would I need to tune with crome or some other program?

You should have it dyno-tuned, crome would be good. Probably you're cheapest option anyway. If i'm not mistaken, you can just remove that skunk2 chip and tune with that ecu.

For best results, ask you're local tuner what they are confident with.
