Default New Engine Completely, Got Questions

ok, i bought a 96 engine tranny and wiring harness for a soon to be swap (got it for 200 bucks with ecu, wiring harness, all the goodies from some retard in a near by town), the rings were shot and so were the sleeves so this is what i did,

since i am new to the tuning scene, i went to flatlanderracing.com and bought a dart block, pauter billet rods and forged pistons, and also sent in my crank to a local machine shop that does a lot of race engines for diff. apps and got it ground and knife edged at an extremely reasonable price (only because my friends dad owns it).

will i be able to run this setup (since it is stock bore and stroke) with the factory ecu that i have? what about engine balancing??? and also, where the fuck am i going to go when i buy my turbo to tune the ecu (or get it tuned to run the current setup)??? i have no idea of fuel mapping and whatnot since i am a diesel mechanic... as i have said on other posts.. i feel awfully stupid on this forum, but want to know how/where i can do this kind of stuff so i dont have to be so dependent.

thanks in advance

What turbo set-up do you plan to use? GREDDY turbo kits come with an Tunable engine management unit!!! look for an Performance shop that has a dyno and tuning capabilities near you to get your car dialed in the right way! To balance the block just bring it back to that machine shop with the the crank, rods, pistons, bearings and have them do it!!
From what it sounds like, you seem to be off to a good start with that motor! if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask, thats about the only way your going to learn about what you can do to a honda/ acura!!!

I'll buy the stock block from you and pay for the shipping!! where are you from?? i'm in Connecticut!! Let me know!!

I do not have a car at the moment!

I ALSO dont have the block at the moment EITHER!!, i have dissasembled everything as you may have gathered, and sent the block and head to get checked out at a shop in nevada iowa (im from NW Iowa) to make sure everything is OK. i actually am thinking of keeping it just, because im a packrat?? and idk. if the time comes when i want to do another buildup than i will have a decent block, if its okay, but i am thinking that im going to keep it for a while, sorry to dissapoint you man!!

and why the hell dont i just have the shop im ordering the parts from build the short block for me?? i guess i got a little overwhelmed with all of this coming at me so fast i didnt think. sigh**

thanks for the heads up with the GReddy kit! i know for sure there isnt a car dyno within 50 miles of my area so ill have to call up one of my buddies to trailer it there when i get a car!

No problem!! Depending on what sites you order from, the greddy turbo kit is going to run you about $2800.-$3300. and comes with everything that you will need, intercooler to!!
